Pokémon Video Game Showdown
Qualifier Tournaments continue this weekend in New York!
The
Pokémon Video Game Showdown is a BATTLE
of the best
Pokémon Diamond and
Pokémon Pearl players from Japan and the United States. Two Qualifier Tournaments are
being held in the United States this summer, and the top 16 finishers in each age division will win
a trip to compete at the final Pokémon Video Game Showdown in Orlando, Florida.
The first Qualifier Tournament took place in Los Angeles on July 12th, and you can find out
who won at the official
Pokémon Video Game
Showdown website.
Online registration is now closed, but even if you missed your chance to register online you
could have an opportunity to compete. In the event that less than 128 invited participants in
either age group show up at the next Qualifier Tournament, alternates may be randomly selected from
those in attendance. It's not a guarantee to participate, but it's worth a shot if you don't have a
space reserved. Space is limited, so show up early. And while you're there, you might even get a
chance to meet Pikachu!
