What is the tournament structure?

Pokémon TCG: Diamond & Pearl will NOT be legal for play at the Mexico National Championships. Legal sets will be EX Deoxys through EX Power Keepers.

The tournament is run using the Modified Format and Swiss pairings. See the Pokémon Tournament Rules for additional information about Modified and Swiss formats.

The National Championships will be broken into sections by age divisions and will be run using Swiss pairings. Because Swiss rounds are dependent upon total attendance of each age division, there will be a minimum of five rounds of Swiss, with more rounds as necessary based on attendance. Swiss rounds will feature one-game matches.

After the final round of Swiss, the top 16 players from each age division (attendance levels permitting) will move into a single-elimination round. The single-elimination rounds will feature best-of-three game matches.

The single elimination portion of the Mexico National Championships will be held on Sunday, May 27 th.
