Aloha
from the 2007 Pokémon TCG World Championships! We’re here at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, one of
the most amazing resorts you’ll ever see. When players aren’t shuffling, cutting, and drawing, they
might be swimming, fishing, and sailing. The 62 acres of the Hilton Waikoloa Village include
spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, an astonishing array of exotic birds and other wildlife,
opportunities to swim with dolphins or learn to hula dance, and an impressive mile-long museum
walkway featuring over $7 million worth of Asian, Western, and Ocean cultural art.
Today’s big event is the Last Chance Qualifier, where a select number of players from each of the three age divisions—Junior, Senior, and Masters-will advance into tomorrow’s Main Event, joining players from more than 25 countries as they all compete for the coveted title of Pokémon TCG World Champion. Registration for the Last Chance Qualifier is already underway, and by the end of the day today, we will know who these final additions to the competition are.
All day long—in fact, all weekend long—we'll bring you updates, photos, videos, interviews, tours, and other fun stuff from the World Championships. The brackets will keep you posted how your friends and family competing here are doing. The photos and videos will give you a sense of the wonder of Hawaii and the excitement of the event. The puzzles, interviews, games, and other fun features will keep you entertained while the players do fierce battle on their way to the top. And when the weekend is over, you’ll see three players overcome all the odds to be crowned Pokémon World Champion. Perhaps one of these future Champions is getting ready to compete in today's Last Chance Qualifier!
Check back often for updates from the Big Island and the Main Event—the Pokémon TCG World Championships! Mahalo!
